EVANGELIST STACY LUNSFORD
Overcoming Rejection Section revised by Evangelist Stacey Lunsford
God has the power. Whatever you went through God has the power to do anything. Survivor of domestic abuse, sexually abused. “Patching Holes -Functional Illiteracy in the Body of Christ.” Do you have a whole in your heart?
As a young kid, I loved riding my bike. Whenever I got a flat tire, I would go to my father to ask for his help with fixing the flat tire. One day my father decided to teach me how to fix the flat, so that I could do it myself. I watched closely as he took the tire off of the bike. Then he took the inner tube out of the tire. Next he placed the inner tube into a bucket of water to identify where the hole was in the inner tube...soon the water began to bubble identifying where the hole was at. Daddy showed me how to place the rubber patch on the hole, seal it with the glue...after it dried, I placed the inner tube back in the tire and put the tire back on the bicycle and proudly smiled as I tightened the screws.
As I got older, daddy taught me how to drive and I got my driver's license. Naturally, daddy taught me how to change a flat tire on a car too! My father has been such a blessing to me and I am very thankful for the many lessons that I have learned from him that are still helping me today! When it came down to fixing my broken heart, I didn't go to daddy for his help. I was so good at fixing flat tires on bicycles and cars that I used that same technique to cover up the holes (hurts and pains) of my heart with the patches, just like I did on my car and bicycle. It seems like the more I patched, the more holes would come! On a car or bicycle after so many patches, you have to throw away that old inner tube and you have to get a new one as well as a brand new tire for your car!
Because of all of the patches on my heart, I had a sick heart and like the patches on a quilt tells a story, each patch had it's own unique story. In an effort to understand the source of my pain, I had to remove the patches one by one because I quickly learned that things that are covered up couldn’t heal! It was time for me to surrender my little patch kit over to the Lord! It was time for me to get a new heart, a healthy heart, A CHANGE OF HEART! Change is to make different, to transform or to convert. Convert is to change something into a different form, substance, etc., to transform. Conversion is to change one's beliefs or attitudes, to make different in some particular way, to alter.
I never dealt with the pain of the miscarriage and ...God began to speak to me about Psalm 51:10. Confront-self-examination-taking off the patches. Dealing with the shame, guilt, and low self-esteem. God showed me the work of the archaeologists, the excavating process and how they have to dig down deep, extract and examine that which was hidden.
Rejection, why? 2 Tim. 1:7-generational curse. Pain from not dealing with loss that I suffered. Within the lost rejected by husband in the midst of marital counseling. Why?
QUESTIONS REGARDING CONFRONTATION
- How did you respond to what happened to you?
- Did you feel embarrassed?
- Were you afraid? Are you afraid?
- To what or who did you turn to for help?
- Did they or it help you or hurt you?
- Did it fix the problem or get worse?
Reject the lie - our false personality
Accept the truth - our true personality and identify in Christ
Scripture: Genesis 3:1-6
I praise God for His will being doing done at the seminar. I thank Him for the peace, love and harmony in which the program started, the songs, the testimonies of God's divine protection, provision and presence in our lives, what a blessing to see and hear the testimonies of folks that have stood face to face with death and hear how God's grace and God's mercy stepped in and said NO, glory hallelujah!
I thank God for the hearts that were touched, encouraged and the word of deliverance that went forth, starting with notes from Rev. Janet Simpkins for the definitions of Betrayal provided by Deacon Pamela Baldwin and the preached word, Overcoming Betrayal by Pastor Chantell Ellis....
